Bamboo inserts are simple, but make sure you read the packaging because sometimes cheap brands hide layers of microfibre inside. This is not the case with the Elf Bamboo Inserts. 

This insert is 4 layers of a fine bamboo terry material. It is a one size insert suitable for 8 – 35lbs, but realistically more ideal for 12lbs plus, or middle rise. It’s claimed to hold 6 ounces of liquid. 

This is from Elf. I bought it at MiniShak in Canada for $4.25, but you can purchase online from AliExpress in a 10 pack for $30, or $3 USD each. 

I never got more than 6 ounces out of this – I did get 5.9, 4.7, 5.8 and 5.6. I imagine the 4.7 is an anomaly. This is an average of 5.7 ounces total absorbency. 

In Canada that works out to 75 cents per ounce, or 53 cents USD at the 10 pack pricing. That’s more expensive than imported prefolds, but about par for imported inserts.
