What is a Pocket Diaper?
A pocket diaper has a pocket, just like your pants. The exterior is waterproof PUL and the interior is usually microfleece (or stay dry). Inserts are added in the opening between the two layers.
This design creates a classic cloth diaper that is easy for many caregivers, once assembled. It is a two step cloth diaper and can be mix and matched.

Can I Use a Pocket Diaper as a Swim Diaper?
Yes.
Swim diapers are better designed because they have a tighter shape and size to give a snug fit. But you can use a pocket diaper, use a smaller rise setting for a better fit without absorbency.
Do you have to stuff pocket diapers?
No.
If you are using natural fiber inserts, prefolds, or flats, you can place the inserts on top of the fleece liner and use just like a cover.
If you are using microfibre, uncovered, then yes, that has to be kept away from the skin in the pocket.
Are Pocket Diapers Bulky?
They can be.
Depending on how well the diaper fits, the inserts inside, and the size of your child, depends on the fit of the diaper.
Pocket diapers can be very trim and with practice, you will find your groove.
Can I replace my inserts?
Yes.
Replace your inserts with other inserts, natural fiber inserts, prefolds, flats, or any other absorbent materials.
Are all pocket diapers stay-dry?
Most are.
There are very few pocket diapers without stay-dry inners. Pocket diapers are most often sold with microfleece or athletic wicking jersey.
Can I reuse pocket cloth diapers?
No.
Pocket cloth diapers are used, then laundered. You don’t replace the inserts. Once the fleece liner is soiled it needs to be laundered.
