Red Dress Day, May 5th, marks National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. #MMIW #RedDressDay
The MMIW movement is global awareness of the missing and murdered Indigenous Women…. Indigenous Women have higher rates of homicide, suicide, and sexual assault.
The Cloth Diaper community is making strides in lifting the voices of Black Women, Asian Women, and the many other incredible people of colour creating products, diapers and education.
But, the one voice that is still missing in this community is that from Indigenous women – there is so much work to be done in our communities to protect, heal, and empower Indigenous families.
— I have written so many different variations of things here, but I will take some time today to share in stories different resources from Indigenous voices.
I write this from the unneeded territory of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, a community who speaks Carrier language, and whose traditional territory was the confluence of the Fraser River and the Nechako River.
