Guest Post: Why I use Smart Bottoms Diapers

Traditional Mom Life
I am a mommy of two young children, who also work full time. I love all things old fashioned, vintage, and traditional. I am a younger mother, who wants to instill traditions, and old fashioned lifestyles when possible into my children’s lives. I also want them to slow down and notice the small simple things, and help others do the same. I want us to spend time together as a family, and actual focus on spending time with each other and not staring over electronics. I want my children to learn about the classics in life, and be traditional in their lives when possible.

Even before I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to use cloth diapers on my babies. I wanted to primarily save money and not buy disposable diapers for two plus years, per child. That was a lot of money I did not want to waste on something to be thrown out, and I wanted to save money for other things. Also, the more I thought about it, it was indeed much better for the environment to use cloth diapers that can be washed and reused.
Where to Start?
I had no idea where to start learning about cloth diapers and which brand or style. Then one day, I discovered my friend on Facebook posted a picture of her child in a cloth diaper. I messaged her immediately asking for advice, and she got me hooked. I learned there are so many different styles and different brands. The brand she used was Smart Bottoms, and it is also the only brand I use as well.
Different Styles
There are different styles of diapers, but the one I use is the all in one (AIO) diaper, or Smart Bottoms 3.1 style. I personally love the AIO style because of convenience. There is no folding of inserts, or stuffing of covers. I love that I am able to change the entire diaper, and wash the entire diaper. I do not have to separate the inside and outside of the diaper. It is ready to go as soon as it comes out of the dryer. While AIOs do cost more money for the style, I think it is worth it for the convenience and still it is still environment friendly.
